・キウイは皮の色や表面の状態だけでは、熟しているかどうかが分かりにくい果物です。
・キウイの食べごろは、手で優しく触って弾力や柔らかさを確かめることが大切です。
・一般的に、手で包んだときにほどよく弾力があるものや、ヘタの周りを押したときにややへこむ感じがするものが食べごろです。
・また、甘い香りがするものも食べごろのサインです。
逆に、皮が変色していたり、水分が抜けてシワシワになっていたり、カビが生えていたりするものは熟し過ぎている可能性が高いです。
・熟していないキウイは、常温で追熟させることができます。
・追熟を早めたい場合は、エチレンガスを発生させる果物（りんごやバナナなど）と一緒に袋に入れて保存すると効果的です。
・追熟したキウイは冷蔵庫で保存すると長持ちします。
