靴を履いて歩いていると、その蒸れが気になりますよね。
靴にもよりますが、歩いている時の靴の中の湿度は99％以上と言われるくらいに靴の中は蒸れています。
蒸れた靴で歩き続けていると、気になるのがにおいです。
長時間歩き続けて、いざ靴を脱いでみるといやなにおいがすることも多々あり、
それが食事をするお店のお座敷だったり、誰かの家だったりするともう最悪ですよね。
「靴が蒸れていたんだな。誰かににおいがバレていないかな。」と、食事どころではなくなってしまいます。
その靴の蒸れを抑える方法はあるのでしょうか。また、蒸れた靴で歩き続けてしまっても、臭いを抑える方法はあるのでしょうか。
今日はそれについて詳しく見ていきます。

靴が蒸れる。中の湿度は99％にもなる
靴の中の湿度は、靴の素材や形状、靴下の種類、歩行の強度や時間、気温や湿度などによって変化します。
一般的には、靴を履いていると足から発汗するために靴内は高温多湿になりやすく、特に足指間は通気性が悪くて蒸れやすい部分です。
靴内の湿度を測定する方法としては、靴内に湿度計を入れる、靴内に吸湿性のある素材を貼り付けて重量変化を測る、
靴内に水分センサーを埋め込むなどがあります。
これらの方法で測定した結果によると、靴内の相対湿度は50％から90％以上まで変動することがわかっています。

空気の中には、水が蒸発してガス状になった水蒸気が常に存在しています。
水蒸気の量は、温度や気圧などの条件によって変わります。
空気が一定の温度で含むことができる最大の水蒸気量を飽和水蒸気量といいます。
湿度には、いくつかの種類がありますが、一般的によく使われるのは相対湿度というものです。
相対湿度とは、ある温度での飽和水蒸気量に対する、実際の空気中の水蒸気量の比率です。
相対湿度はパーセント（%）で表されます。
例えば、相対湿度が50%という場合は、空気が含むことができる最大の水蒸気量の半分だけ含んでいるということです。
靴の中の蒸れは何が原因なのか
靴が蒸れる原因は、主に以下の3つが考えられます。
・靴の素材や形状が通気性や透湿性に欠ける場合。天然皮革よりも合成皮革や人工皮革の方が湿度が高くなりやすいです。
・靴のサイズが足に合っていない場合。靴が足に密着しすぎたり、余裕がありすぎたりすると、足に余計な負担がかかり、汗をかきやすくなります。
・長時間同じ靴を履き続ける場合。靴の中の汗や熱がうまく放出されず、雑菌やカビが繁殖しやすくなります。特に暑い季節や運動時は注意が必要です。
靴の蒸れを防ぐ方法
靴の蒸れを防ぐためには、以下のような対策が有効です。
・靴は通気性や透湿性の良い素材を選ぶ。また、防水タイプの靴は必要な時以外は避ける。
・靴のサイズは足に合ったものを選ぶ。また、靴紐は緩めに結んで空気を通しやすくする。
・靴を履く前に足を清潔に洗って乾かす。足指間も念入りに洗って水分を拭き取る。
・靴を履き続ける時間を短くする。休憩中に靴や靴下を脱いで乾燥させたり、履き替えたりする。

仕事や生活習慣：
立ち仕事やダイエット、ストレスなどが原因で足に負担がかかり、汗をかきやすくなったり、
ケトン体や乳酸などの臭い成分が発生しやすくなります。
靴を脱いだ後の足のにおいを抑える方法
靴を脱いだ後の足のにおいを抑える方法としては、以下のようなものがあります。
足を清潔に洗う：
入浴時には足湯で汚れを浮かせてから、除菌効果のある石鹸で足指間や爪のわきなどを丁寧に洗います。
重曹を使って角質を落としたり、保湿したりするとより効果的です。
靴や靴下をこまめに替える：
同じ靴や靴下を連日履かずにローテーションを組みます。
履いた後は日に干して風を通しましょう。
汗を拭き取る：
靴を履いているときに汗をかいたら、休憩中に靴や靴下を脱いで汗を拭き取ります。

自分自身、歩いた後の足のにおいには長年悩まされており、色々調べながら都度様々な事を試してきました。
靴の消臭スプレー、蒸れにくい靴、歩きやすい靴などです。
その中でも効果があったのは、「足の爪を切って清潔な状態にしておく」「歩く前に足の爪の間まで念入りに洗い、皮膚常在菌の量をなるべく減らす」「足になるべく負担のかからない歩きやすい靴、靴下を使用する」「歩いた後の靴は天日干しをし、しっかりと乾かす」の4点です。
運動する事と汗をかくことは切っても切り離せない関係で、その汗による不快感をなるべく抑えられた方が良いですよね。
自分一人ならまだしも、その状態で誰かと関わることがあるのなら尚更です。
靴をなるべく蒸れないようにすることは勿論ですが、蒸れたとしても足のにおいを抑える方法を実践して、「楽しいことは楽しい、気持ちのいい運動は気持ちがいい」のまま終われることを目指していきたいですね。
